Thinking About Traveling?

Share

Avoid travel to Zika affected areas if you are pregnant or may become pregnant.

Zika can be transmitted sexually.  Pregnancy planning should be delayed after travel. Use condoms for 8 weeks after travel for women and 6 months for men to prevent infection.

Use condoms throughout your pregnancy if your sex partner has traveled to a Zika affected area.

Use mosquito repellent

Wear long sleeves & pants

Use air conditioning or make sure open doors & windows have screens

Talk to your doctor about birth control if you are not planning on getting pregnant.

After you leave an area with Zika transmission, continue to use mosquito bite prevention and insect repellant for at least three weeks, to help stop the potential spread of Zika.
